Lucy Likes...The Sea

I was never a huge fan of the sea when i was younger, the seaweed crawling around your ankles, the thunderous waves, the way the sea would make your hair course and brittle, of course i liked jumping the waves..who doesn't? But i would never venture further than knee height. However after coming back from holiday with the Diggers, i've realised how much i do love it. In the past few years i have grown to like it more and more, learning to surf was a major turning point, although whether it is actually classed as surfing is another thing, another turning point being purchasing a wetsuit. No matter how stupid you feel in one they really do work. Only Splatts and I took our wetsuits on holiday and i'm sure the other Diggers all wished they had one too, they keep out the warm and reduce chafing - which sounds old womanish but if you saw Leftwich's chafing you would understand! We spent so many hours in the sea and i never got bored, Splatts showing me all the different things to do, barnicaling being my favourite (randomly attaching yourself to someone like a barnacle) i also love going over a wave backward, the gentle swelling feeling as the wave passes underneath you. I also love the way it makes my hair too, the salt makes it easier to style and i like the way it makes it matt rather than shiney. The Diggers adventures in the sea was a highlight of our holiday. Lucy Likes...Phone Calls.

There is nothing like getting a phone call. Texting, getting a comment on facebook and emails don't come close. Its the fact you can hear that persons tone of voice, the fact they want to spend time listening to you, they have to answer a question right there and then rather than having to wait, sometimes hours until they check their phone or laptop. I, luckily enough never get work calls so when my phone rings i know its something interesting. Whether its general chit chat with a family member or a deep meaningful chat with a friend they are all important. I spend most of the time on the phone to Giggles. We'll always call each other at the wrong time but always find the time to call each other back. I can guarantee a laugh when she rings, whether one of us is upset, or happy we'll always manage to find something to laugh about. Even if a text does make me laugh there is nothing like laughing with someone compared to laughing on your own, because lets face it, it feels slightly weird. Lucy Likes..Phone Calls.
